License. This book is a comprehensive textbook on data visualization with R, the exact title of the course, and will be the primary textbook for the course.

This textbook is excellent, and this is the most used textbook of the course. The content of the textbook works well for the course. This textbook was used almost every week, including the exercises contained. The students were able to follow the in-class lectures, but have a closely corresponding, free, and high quality textbook to refer to if they missed anything in class, or even when they missed class.

All of the textbooks used in this course are OTB. The use of OTB has been quite helpful. I think the students appreciate having textbooks that are free, as well as freely available electronically rather than physical. The materials in the textbook are also suitable for the course. I was able to use one textbook (Kabakoff’s) as primary text, which was closely followed in the class. The other textbook (Lilja’s) serves as a high quality reference, and was particularly used for specific weeks. The student feedbacks responded that they are highly positive toward the use of OTB in the course. This is particularly true for English language textbooks which are otherwise even more expensive than Chinese language text.
Highly recommended for any course that needs to introduce the R language, and/or data visualization in R. It would also be helpful to supplement this text with material that might be covered in the class, but is not the main focus of the text. In my case, the class also teaches regression, which although is covered by this textbook, a supplementary textbook was helpful to teach the fundamental principles of regression, rather than just the coding of regression.

This textbook gives a comprehensive coverage of the topic. The structure of the content is also similar to other introductory books on R that includes graphics. Thus, students are able to learn from this text and then progress to more advanced texts on R without difficulty.
內容正確性(Content Accuracy):
No issue at all. The material, examples, and exercises in the text are updated. The codes run without any difficulty. The content is highly accurate.
This textbook is very clear. Things are explained in clear language. It also contains many excellent examples that I directly used in the lectures.
組織結構流暢度(Organization Structure Flow):
The organization is also excellent, though I might have readapted to cover introduce by building up prior knowledge, instead of the topicbased used in the text.
專業程度(Professional knowledge):

Excellent. The content cover all the major aspects of ggplot2 in R, including core lessons on R programming. This serves as a professional introduction to data visualization in R.
